Yizkor Book 5785

בס''ד

September 2024

We are proud to announce that we will be publishing the tenth edition of the Young Israel of Brookline Yizkor Book. The Yizkor Book serves as a way to commemorate more visibly the memory of our departed loved ones, Aleihem Hashalom, as well as assisting in fulfilling our obligation of Tzedaka in their memory.

The new edition of the Yizkor Book will be published in time for use on Yom Kippur and will be used throughout the year on days when Yizkor is recited. In this book, the names of loved ones for whom Yizkor is recited can be inscribed for a nominal fee. In addition, the book will also contain the Tefilot Yizkor participants recite during the Yizkor service.

To be part of this continuing tradition, we invite you to send us a list of the names of those loved ones whom you would like to have remembered. The cost for each listing is $18 for each name, which includes both the donor’s family name and the names of the persons being remembered. A listing of “Mr. & Mrs.” is considered two names. Full-page listings are also available at the cost of $180. Please keep in mind that you can use full pages to memorialize groups, such as Holocaust victims, Israeli soldiers, etc.

Important note: If you participated in last year’s Yizkor Book, please complete either the form on the YIB website or click here for an online version of the form. If there are no changes to last year’s listing, you may repeat your listing by checking the appropriate space on either form. To review last year’s book please click here, contact the office or email the Yizkor Book Committee. If you would like to make changes to last year’s listing, please complete, in full, either form.

Completed forms along with full payment must be received by the Young Israel office, Attn: Yizkor Book, or submitted online NOW, in order to be included in this edition.
