Bnei Akiva Brookline Activities

YIB welcomes Bnei Akiva Shlichim, Shira and Yedidya Meuchas, from Sderot, and their children, Nave and Maayan, to our community. Shira and Yedidya have join our shul team to enrich youth programming and Israel/Israeli programming at YIB, and we are so happy to partner with Maimonides Kehillah to create Bnei Akiva Brookline that will provide programming for the entire Brookline area. Shira and Yedidya will also be teaching at Maimonides School, and we thank Maimonides School for their partnership to make this exciting initiative a reality. November Calendar of Events

 

Chevraya Bet Program

Join us for our first Chevraya Bet (grades 8-12) get-together this Friday night, November 14, at the Meuchas family home for learning, snacks, and fun time together. We’ll meet at 7:45 PM. Click on flyer for details.


Hazon Program

A special monthly program for students in grades 6–8, connecting to Israel through engaging and experiential learning and activities. Each session focuses on a different theme, exploring personal connections to Israel. The first session will take place on Motzei Shabbat, November 22, at 6:30 PM at Young Israel. Register here.


Manhigut Program – for 9th Graders

A meaningful monthly leadership program where each session features an inspiring community guest who will share their unique perspective on leadership and social responsibility. The first meeting will be on Sunday, November 23, at 7:30 PM with Eli Sanders. Location to be confirmed soon.


Shira and Yedidya Meuchas

Yedidya Meuchas is a teacher and educator, especially passionate about Tanach. He has taught elementary and middle school, coordinated after-school activities, and organized youth programs. He is a musician at heart, and looks forward to playing with all the musicians in Brookline!

Shira Meuchas is a project manager and community coordinator, including her experience at the International Resilience Center in Sderot, where she worked with Birthright programs and other community and student programs. She loves connecting people, meaningful conversations — and good food!

They are very excited about meeting the Brookline community and making many close friends!
