New Chevrat Chesed Committee:
Chevrat Chesed is pleased to announce the formation of a new committee, an outgrowth of our Dor L~RDor and SABAH committees. Coordinated by Devora Baronofsky, the purpose of the committee is to provide comfort, caring and connection for our YI Family members who are sitting shiva, or who may be very ill or homebound by presenting them with a handmade shawl or lap robe.  Volunteers will be given yarn and patterns and receive training on how to crochet shawls or lap robes. Each person will commit to crochet or knit at least one to three shawls or lap robes a year.  Each lovingly, hand crafted shawl or lap robe is meant to wrap individuals in the caring fabric of our YI family. The shawls will have the label of YIB and the signature of the individual volunteer artisan.  We will begin by distributing to YI family members when caring and connection and healing are most needed.  The launch meeting will take place after Pesach at the home of Mindy Gewirtz. Please speak with Devora Baronofsky or Mindy Gewirtz for more details.
